Amazing value tour combining boat trip, visit on the historical island of Spinalonga, swimming and BBQ in the beach of Kolokytha along with visiting the coastal city of Agios Nikolaos!

Our tour starts early in the morning when you get picked up by our bus from your hotel. While on the bus on the way to Agios Nikolaos you get information from our guides regarding Crete, its history and the program of the day ahead of you. After about 60-90 minutes bus ride, depending from where you were picked up from, you arrive in the city of Agios Nikolaos.

Agios Nikolaos is the capital of Lassithi prefecture, a cosmopolitan and beautiful coastal town popular for the lake of Voulismeni also known as the bottomless lake. From there, we sail to the island of Spinalonga with the ferry from Nostos cruises.

After about an hour boat trip, we arrive at the island of Spinalonga also known as the island of the damned or the island of tears. This small island has a very long history dating back to ancient Greece, when it served as a natural guard for the ancient city of Olous. Later on, it was used from the Saracen pirates as their hideout, during Venetian period it was rebuilt and served as a fortress island. Last but not least, the Turks used it as a prison and of course later on, in 1903 it was used as a Leper colony, where they were sending people in exile until 1957. There will be guided tour on the island with professional guides in all available languages for about 45 minutes and then free time for pictures and exploration.

Embarking on the boat and following a short boat trip (about 20 minutes), we arrive at the beautiful sandy bay of Kolokytha, where you can swim for about 90 minutes in the crystal clear turquoise water and enjoy the delicious BBQ offered on board (Vegetarian option available but must be declared when making reservation).

Return to the city of Agios Nikolaos and free time for about 90 minutes to visit the Byzantine chapel, the market (if you want to do some shopping), have a coffee or just stroll around the city, the beautiful lake of Voulismeni and the port of the town. Boarding on the bus to return to your hotel.
